Christmas & New year adds to the beauty, especially the home made plum cakes(hmmm... yummy!!). But, there is one other special reason to attract tourists and music enthusiasts to Chennai. Yes, it is the Marghazhi Carnatic season. There are plenty of sabhas and concert halls in the city that organizes the Carnatic music shows to the packed houses. Some of the best halls in the city are The Naradha gana sabha, Kamaraj Arangam, Music Academy etc. Last week, i just got lucky and grabbed a chance to watch one of the best shows in the Kamaraj arangam. Yes, It was none other than Nithyashree Mahadevan Madam. Her mesmerizing voice took the audiance by storm. The show was titled as "Chennaiyil Thiruvaiyaru" organized by Lakshman Shruthi. It started with chanting of Pancharatna Kirtis by veteran singers, which is followed by Dr. Nithyashree's event. However, i felt let down when i missed out Dr K.J. Yesudas' concert due to official responsibilities. Thanks god!! for atleast allowing my family to attend Yesudas' sir's concert.
